Imprinting is easy for big products like imprinted holiday gifts or mugs, but when it comes to tiny objects like photo name tags or custom pens you do need some special equipment.

First of all you need a fixing mechanism in your imprinting apparatus to fix and rotate the item when applying a sublimation heat transfer image acquired from your photo or a digital logotype. If the shape of the pen is cylindrical or polygon, polymeric coating that is substantive to a sublimable dye should be provided.

Secondly, you need an instant drying mechanism in your imprinting apparatus that will evaporate all dye fumes before they spoil the image texture. This is done when you want to ensure that sharp and bright colours of your logo will not be damaged

The second photo imprinting task shall be performed immediately after the first one. Therefore, the process of imprinting pens comprises these several steps with the relation of one or more of such steps to each of the others, specifically in time.

Good luck with placing your photo image on a customized pen!

I suppose most of you. I’m the same – 4 of my favourite family framed photos.
Few days ago moved to a new office but with a smaller desk and when I put my laptop on the desk plus two additional screens and the rest of the things I need for my work … my desk was almost full. I only managed to find a place for two of my picture frames but I wanted all four I thought – “There is no way to put all of them on the desk, but I didn’t want to look for another place …” Fortunately my devoted office assistant, lady at age of 52 asked if she can help with arranging my stuff. I said: “I have to gave up, can’t find place for all photos”. She then suggested “Why don’t you just buy one of those Digital Picture Frames, you’ll have all 4 photos in one frame – it simply rotates them and you can change them with others when you want, my grandson bought one of this things and he’s very pleased! Instead of trying to find a place where to put all four picture frames you will need a place just for one!”.

Well… that was a really good idea. I thought it will be easy to choose a Digital Picture Frame and order one but I never knew there are so many different types of Digital Picture Frames … Making deep research – something that is typical for me I found out that there are hundreds, maybe even thousands brands and designs Digital Picture Frames. Kodak (I would be surprised if Kodak haven’t designed Digital Picture Frames ), eStarling, Phillips, Pandigital, Mustek …

Some Digital Picture Frames have Built-in MP3 player with integrated speakers for MP3 playback, others offer Wi-Fi, so you can download or upload your photos. You can add fun transition display effects and sound clips or select the time between image changes. Some are even with Security-lock-ready capability – you can keep the Digital Picture Frame secure in your office.
You may choose between many different sizes – 8″, 10″, 7″, 6.5″, 10.4″ and aspect ratio (4:3, 16:9).

To be honest I spent 3 hours on visiting different websites and reading dozens reviews. I finally “landed” in Gadgets website that offers a lot of useful information, including helpfull forum: http://www.coolest-gadgets.com . They have also got Digital Picture Frame comparison: http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/./digital-picture-comparison/
which is very useful if you are not sure making your decision what to buy.
I personaly desided to vote for Kodak (Kodak Easyshare EX-1011 10-Inch Digital Picture Frame with Wireless).

What you will choose is also a question of budget and personal preferences.
I always would prefer popular brands even if their products are a bit more expensive but for a higher price I expect better quality, service and guarantee. With such a variety on the market you will definitelly find what Digital Picture Frame is the best for you.

Ever wonder why when you convert an image from RGB to CMYK, the colour appearance can be so dramatically different?

One way to understand why this happens is to compare the colour space gamuts of different devices (such as a display and a printer). You can do this by using the ColorSync Utility.

Step 1:Open the ColorSync Utility, located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder and click Profiles in the toolbar.

Step 2:In the left column, select the colour profile of your first device. You’ll then see in the bottom-right space a 3D model called a “lab plot”.

Step 3:Click the downward-pointing triangle on the top-left corner of the lab plot and from the pop-up menu choose “Hold for Comparison”.

Step 4:Then click the profile of another device in the left column.

You’ll now see the colour profiles of the two different devices laid on top of each other. The first profile that you held for comparison is the lighter of the two.

Comparing the 3-dimensional gamut of the selected profiles shows you how converting from one colour space to another can affect the colours of your image. The areas where one gamut exceeds the boundaries of another are known as “out of gamut”. It’s these out-of-gamut colours — which cannot be reproduced within the target colour space (or on the target device) — that cause the difference in colour appearance when converted from one colour space to another.

Types of camcorders

If you are planning on purchasing a camcorder, you should be familiar with the types of camcorders and how they can benefit your specific needs. The formats of video cameras include, VHS, VHS-C, 8mm, Hi8, Mini Digital Video (Mini DV), DVD and Digital 8. Each format has its pros and cons

VHS
The VHS format is the oldest type of camcorder. This type of video camcorder is fast becoming outdated, because you can only play back the video on a VHS VCR system. VHS camcorders are not nearly as clear as digital video camcorders that offer clear video with 540 lines of resolution, VHS video cameras only offer 240 lines of resolution. They also weigh more and are much more bulky, that dv camcorders. You can only find these video camera used because their technology is now outdated.
VHS-C
The VHS-C format offer 240 lines of resolution, just like VHS. These analog camcorders come in a smaller size that the VHS camcorder models, but use the same technology. The video tapes used in VHS-C camcorders are much smaller in size than VHS, just in a smaller camcorder design. VHS-C is considered old technology and not used today in newer models.
8mm
If you are looking to record more than 1 hour, then 8mm camcorders are perfect. These video cameras can record up to 5 hours of footage and they offer better video quality that VHS cameras. In order to view video from your 8mm video camcorder, you need to connect the camcorder to input jacks on your TV or your VCR system.
MiniDV
MiniDV, short for mini Digital Video off the clearest and most vivid colors out of all the types of camcorders on the market, and they’re small in size only 4 inches in width and height. Mini dv camcorders can fit in the palm of your hand, making them very easy to handle and transport. And if you like editing your video footage you can connect dv camcorders to your computer system. Transferring the video is a snap with the FireWire connection. Once the footage is in your computers hard drive you can burn it to dvd, add it to your web site or email small clips to friends and family.
Digital8
Digital8 camcorders offer the best of both worlds, Hi8 and DV. You can use 8mm and hi8 video tapes combined with the best image quality found in digital camcorder formats. Digital8 camcorders are larger and heavier than Mini DV camcorders, but they are also cheaper in price. The Digital8 system offers 540 lines of crystal clear resolution.
DVD Camcorders
The newest form of digital video cameras are DVD camcorders. These camcorders are small in size, just like Digital8 and Mini DV camcorders. The big difference compared to other camcorder systems is that DVD camcorders use recordable DVD discs such as DVD-R or DVD-RW. The big benefit to dvd video cameras is that they can be played on your home DVD player, and of course the quality is the best you can find.
Price comparisons
If you want to buy the cheapest priced camcorder go for a VHS analog camcorder, you don’t get the same quality as digital camcorders however if you plan on filming family vacations this should be sufficient for your needs. Then there are DVD camcorders, they are the most expensive of digital video cameras, but at the same time, they are the newest technology offering the best image and sound quality. Lastly is the mini dv format, this is probably the best camcorder for the price and quality. Small in size and reasonably priced. Review top manufacturers such as Panasonic, Sharp, Canon and Sony which offer the very popular Sony Handycam.

Bright F2.8, Wide-Angle 28mm* LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT Lens
The LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens on the FX01 employs an extra high
refractive index aspherical lens that makes it possible to incorporate a wide
28mm zoom into its compact body. Spanning all the way from 28mm to
102mm (35mm equivalent), this lens lets you capture everything from
sweeping landscapes to shots with deep rows of skyscrapers. The Extra
Optical Zoom function, which magnifies the image with minimal
deterioration by using the centre part of the high-resolution CCD, boosts the
zoom power to a maximum 5x**.
*35mm equivalent at wide-angle. ** Varies depending on the selected image size and aspect ratio.

Compared with conventional 35mm lens, the FX01′s
wide 28mm zoom lens makes it easier to capture an
indoor group photo, architecture and sceneries with
dynamic width and rich perspective.

Helps Prevent Motion Blur — High Sensitivity Mode*
This mode helps suppress motion blur by automatically setting the ISO sensitivity up to 1600, which increases the shutter speed. It also lets you take clearer, sharper shots of moving subjects like children or pets in dim lighting without using a flash. The picture quality is good enough for printing at the ordinary 4″ x 6″ (10 x 15 cm) size.
*When using High Sensitivity mode, resolution significantly decreases.

A Large, Bright 2.5″ High-Resolution LCD with High Angle Mode
With its 2.5″ size and 207,000 pixels, this high-resolution LCD monitor
makes it easy to see text and small thumbnail images. The pixel-mixed readout method performed by the CCD increases the brightness level of the live image on the LCD, which greatly facilitates shooting in low lighting. If it’s difficult to see the display on a sunny day, simply press the Power LCD button and the display becomes about 40% brighter. The world’s first* developed High Angle shooting also provides easier viewing when you’re holding the camera high to shoot over the heads of people in front of you.
* As of January 4th, 2006

Quick Response and Comfortable Shooting
The FX01 starts up in just 1.6 seconds — about 20% shorter than the
FX9, has a release time lag as low as 0.005 seconds*, and can fire off up
to 8 consecutive shots at 3 frames per second in Standard mode. It also
has Unlimited Consecutive Shooting**, so you can keep shooting until
the SD Memory Card is full. Furthermore, the 1-point high-speed AF is
as fast as the FX9 to achieve outstanding focusing with speed and
precision. You can shoot quickly, easily and accurately every time.

*Not including auto-focusing time.
**The consecutive shooting speed varies depending on the memory card.

Up to 320 Shots On a Single Charge
Thanks to the energy-saving Venus Engine Plus and a long-lasting battery, the
It takes slim FX01 lets you take shot after shot without running out of power.
around 320* shots on a single battery charge – about 18% more than the FX9.
*Based on CIPA. Battery charge time is affected by storage and usage conditions. Also, a longer shooting interval reduces the number of photos that can be taken between battery charges.

Flexible Shooting to Match the Scene
Mode Dial

You can view them as a slide show, in a 1-, 9-, or 25-window display, or in a
Calendar View that shows thumbnails of all images taken on a particular
date. Right inside the camera, you can organize your images for easier
access – handy when you’ve taken a lot of shots.

Motion Image Mode
In addition to VGA-size (640×480-pixel) motion image recording, the FX01
records beautiful full-size movies in Wide VGA-size (848×480-pixel) at 30
frames per second which is especially good for viewing on wide screen TV.
The brightness level of the motion images are enhanced because of the high
sensitivity CCD that adopts the pixel-mixed readout method.

Scene Mode

The World’s Smallest * 10x Optical Zoom with Dual
Image Stabilization of MEGA O.I.S. and High ISO Performance
* For 1-megapixel digital still cameras or higher. As of February 14th, 2006

A Slim 10x Optical Zoom Using an Unique Prism – LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT Lens

The world’s first * integration of retractive lens with folded optics
technology allows the zooming to occur horizontally within the camera.
This makes it possible to pack a powerful 10x optical zoom – equivalent
to a big 35 to 350mm lens on a 35mm camera – into a compact camera.

The Extra Optical Zoom function, which magnifies the image with
minimal deterioration by using the centre part of the high-resolution
CCD, boosts the zoom power to a maximum 12.5x**.
* As of February 14th, 2006.
** Varies depending on the selected image size and aspect ratio.

Crisp, Clear Shots of Moving Subjects with ISO 800 Setting in Venus Engine III

The Venus Engine III provides a high-sensitivity ISO 800 setting that
captures images with minimal noise at full resolution. The higher ISO
setting lets you use higher shutter speeds to minimize the motion blur
that can occur when you’re shooting a moving subject, particularly in
dim lighting. Even indoors, you can get crisp, clear, beautiful shots
of children, pets and other subjects that won’t hold still.

Rapid Focusing with Linear AF

Choose from several auto focus modes — spot, 1-point (normal or
high-speed), 3-point high-speed, and 9-point — to suit the scene
you’re shooting. The TZ1 also introduces a new Linear AF system,
which has resulted in the achievement of an industry-leading fast auto
focusing time. Not only the speed but also the noise of the motor is
reduced and even the zooming while recording motion image is
possible. Combined with a startup time of merely 0.95 seconds, this
fast focusing lets you catch every shooting opportunity. Plus, the AF
Assist Lamp helps when focusing in dimly lit places.

MEGA BURST Consecutive Shooting

Thanks to the Venus Engine III, the TZ1 has a release time lag as low as
0.006 seconds*. The TZ1 can also fire off consecutive shots at a swift 3
frames per second, and offers Unlimited Consecutive Shooting**, so you
can keep shooting until the SD Memory Card or built-in memory is full.
* Not including auto-focusing time.
** The consecutive shooting speed varies depending on the memory card or
the built-in memory.

A Large, Bright 2.5″ High-Resolution LCD with High Angle Mode

With its 2.5″ size and 207,000 pixels, this high-resolution LCD monitor
makes it easy to see text and small thumbnail images. The pixel-mixed
readout method performed by the CCD increases the brightness level of
the live image on the LCD, which greatly facilitates shooting in low
lighting. If it’s difficult to see the display on a sunny day, simply
press the Power LCD button and the display becomes about 40% brighter.
The world’s first* developed High Angle shooting function also provides
easier viewing when you’re holding the camera high to shoot over the
heads of people in front of you.
